Why EV will be Future of automobiles | Basic Electric vehicle benefits & Problems

In present days, we know that there is a huge depletion in conventional resources (petrol/diesel) for automobiles due to which cost is increasing potentially.
So we have to work on alternate ways to eradicate this problem and as of now one of the best alternatives to petrol/diesel engine vehicles is Electric vehicles (EV). EV is similar to that of conventional vehicles but differs in Engine and fuel system. Internal Combustion engines and fuel banks are replaced by Electric motors and large traction battery packs.
This article is about some of the major Electric vehicle benefits and the drawbacks associated with it currently. Basic but important problems that can be solved using electric vehicles.

Benefits of Electric vehicles | Electric vehicle benefits
- Cost per km is cheap: Running cost is comparatively cheaper than other petrol/diesel engines. According to the research, Electric vehicle recharge cost is less than half of conventional gas vehicles.
- Eco-Friendly: This is one of the major advantages that can bring a change in our living. Gas-powered vehicles emit harmful gases (through tailpipe emission) which causes air pollution. Here EV plays an important role, due to its zero-emission of pollutants to the environment, the pollution rate decreases eventually (produces zero tailpipe emission). As we know that electricity is renewable energy that is used to charge the EV’s, the emission of greenhouse gases can be reduced which in turn reduces the earth’s temperature and will be better for our environment.
- Energy security: Many countries like Australia, China, etc. import petroleum from other countries which significantly affects the economy of a country, this issue can be reduced by opting towards EV because electricity can be produced locally with other sources like solar energy, tidal, etc. this reduces the dependency of one country on other.
- Maintenance & Safety benefits: Servicing and maintaining of EV is easier and way cheaper than conventional vehicles due to its fewer moving parts. The majority of Battery electric cars consist of brakes, suspension, tires, and a rotor as a moving part. It is easy to replace the damaged parts with a new ones. Batteries in other hand are eventually replaced because it lasts around 8- 10 yrs in current-gen models. In the future, the production of modular batteries (swapping batteries) can fix this issue. The durability, construction is safe according to recent Electric car releases like the Tesla cyber-truck. Major fires & explosion rate is less. Due to the low center of gravity the pick up of the vehicle can be changed instantly, this increases the safety, and balance in speed & rollover is reduced.

Drawbacks of Electric vehicles
Eventually these drawbacks mentioned below will decrease in a few years.
- Initial purchase cost is higher: Though we can achieve a better cost in charging and maintenance of E- vehicles, Initial purchase cost is significantly high, at least for now. However, the price will decrease over time as the infrastructure is in development, and consumers will take time to shift from conventional sources to a new alternative.
- Current Infrastructure availability: This is the largest drawback that is keeping this industry not consumer-friendly and high cost. As it is an emerging industry, it will require time to build its infrastructure/ ecosystem which will be likely solved over time, but currently its a drawback.
- Recharging & Charging stations: Although the advancement in battery technology is considered good from a consumer point of view the charging time is not in sync (not fast enough) with the current generation as it takes more time to charge the batteries. Hence to solve this issue modular/swapping batteries should be encouraged & made available in charging stations.
- An Electric vehicle charging station is a recharging point where the electric energy is supplied to recharge the batteries. but due to the process in infrastructure building, EV charging stations are still in development. A home or office, converters are introduced which can be used to charge batteries from the standard electric outlet. During travels, when the battery goes low, just swap the battery for a new one from the charging station.

Conclusion
Hence taking all these details into consideration, Electric vehicles have proven the best alternative to replace conventional petrol vehicles when the drawbacks are solved in the near future.
Waiting for the Electric automobiles and smart devices that change the era of technology.😍

It is not clear EV is clearner, since electricity is made from burning fossil fuel. And higher density storage of energy is possible with hydrogen, alcohol, or other chemical means than batteries, even if the original source is solar, wind, hydro, or nuclear. The high cost and risk of batteries can be over come with easily swapable battery packs, but no one seems to be working on that.
The advantage of chemical energy storage is not just that you do not need entirely different vehicles and have denser storage, but that you can also take advantage of bio fuels, that remove more pollution than EVs ever could.
I believe we will need all possible alternatives to fossil fuels, as they run out. Planes, trains, and long range driving will not go EV. But short commuters likely will.
Yes, all companies should work on battery technology, especially on swapping batteries/ modular batteries.
